Climate Change and Health in Vulnerable Communities
On Wednesday, March 11th, the Hershey Indivisible Team will host guest speaker, Natasha Sood, from Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Ms. Sood will address the health impacts of climate change, especially in vulnerable communities. She will also discuss the history of the environmental justice movement and how it impacts us from a global and regional standpoint. Best of all, she will provide tips on how we can all be agents of change in our own communities.
Natasha Sood is a third-year medical student at Penn State College of Medicine. Prior to attending medical school, she received a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in Environmental Health Science with a specialization in Climate Change and Health. Her efforts in research and advocacy are based on the impact of climate change on patients’ health, the ability of health care professionals to provide care, and the overall sustainability of healthcare systems.
