What is it like to be a refugee and grow up in a refugee camp dreaming of a better life? You can find out from Omar Mohamed at Wednesday’s HIT meeting featuring “Navigating the Immigration Maze”. Our speaker has experienced not only growing up in one of the largest and longest running refugee camps in the world, but he has gone through a labyrinth of steps and much difficulty involved with resettlement to the US in order to gain citizenship.
Omar Mohamed’s success story will share the challenges he hasfaced on his journey to citizenship in the United States, as well as the good work he continues to do to assist both incoming refugees and those who remain in the camps. It is sure to be an inspirational and enlightening experience. Attending with Omar will be a representative from Church World Services (CWS), who can answer any questions relative to their current refugee resettlement efforts in Central PA.
