Even with the best intentions, when white people try to show up as allies to communities of color, they can make messy mistakes.

You may think people of color are focused on the wrong things or missing the real solutions. You might offer sincere care or advice and end up offending people. You might ask questions out of our own curiosity or ignorance, and wind up hurting the very people you meant to support.

It can be painful and confusing when this happens, but what happens next is even more critical. Do you dig our heels in and try even harder to explain what we meant? Do you shut down and avoid further engagement? Do you just get stuck and not know what to do?

The Daily Kos Liberation League is offering a workshop specifically for white allies to Black, Indigenous, and people of color. This two-hour workshop will help you move through these messy, sticky moments and build stronger solidarity with communities of color.
