Climate Change and What the Media Doesn’t Tell you

The environmental focused program will be held virtually on March 16 at 6:30 p.m.

The news media on climate change sounds truly terrifying.  But buried in the U.N.’s IPCC report last August, was an interesting analysis that provides reason for hope.  Recent climate research predicts that if we, as a society, act decisively and act now, we can blunt the worst impacts of climate change.  This requires action on all levels, from the grassroots on up.  Our three speakers will highlight in a variety of ways, big and small, how to get involved now in the fight for the future of our planet.

Rachel Mark, chapter leader of Harrisburg Citizens Climate Lobby will share information about the upcoming PA Climate Emergence in Harrisburg.  Becky Wills, co-leader of the Derry Township Climate Change Advisory Committee will update the public on the group’s educational outreach efforts, progress of a community-wide climate action plan and ways that everyone can get involved.

Michael Mehrazar, Field Manager for PennFuture, will talk about statewide efforts to save our environment.
